![]() Here's an archive of 2004's wonderful Fans of the Week! Take a look, these guys were among the first! Wanna be fan of the week, but you have a few questions? Click here for your answers! FAN OF THE WEEK 12/19-12/25: Anthony!! Though I've only been a fan of Melissa's for under a year I still am absolutely blown away by her talent and just herself as a person. She's so amazingly talented and down to earth. I became a fan of Melissa's through Wicked. Which introduced me to her amazing voice and then of course her amazing voice-over talents. Most notably Gaz on Invader Zim. I absolutely adore that character. Melissa continues to bring a smile to my face no matter what she does. I anticipate Melissa's next career move and know she'll be successful in whatever she does. Maybe one day she'll stop by Ohio and visit Jackie and I. *wink* Yeah, Anthony! Representin' Ohio! Congratulations, Anth, you're fan of the week. Everyone knows you're a dedicated Wicked fan and a totally awesome Melissa Fan! I remember over the summer when you discovered Zim on the Nicktoons channel and you got to experience Melissa voicing Gaz, we were both so excited! Keep up the good work, and don't forget to visit your favorite Kent kid! You promised! Haha. FAN OF THE WEEK 12/12-12/18: Caroline! Caroline, 20, and I've been a fan of her work... I would say for maybe a year and half... I constantly (though inadvertently) ran into various forms of the amazing Melissa Fahn's work as I bumbled my way through life. It wasn't until a little while after my initial exposure to her that I came to remarkable realization that Melissa was the single thread that connected so many things I loved. From Wicked to Cowboy Bebop, I kept encountering her talents and being blown away each time. Her versatility is extraordinary, and her performances are incredible. In addition, in the arena of voice acting I have found more people who develop a stronger appreciation for voice acting after hearing this extremely talented lady in her many amazing roles (I am sure to point out who she plays as we watch). I look forward with great anticipation to her upcoming projects, as she is extremely talented. Way to go, Caroline! Thanks much for being such an awesome friend as well as being such an awesome fan of Melissa's. You're one of the biggest Bebop fans I know and so much more... Keep up the rockin' work, girl! FAN OF THE WEEK 12/5-12/11: Amanda! Hello, I'm Amanda, 21 years old and attending Kent State University. I was introduced to Melissa's work unassumingly when I heard her work in the English dub of El Hazard as Alielle. She has a really adorable voice. Countless times, exposed to her cute and mischievous sound, and unaware of it. Now that I know who this woman is and what else she's done, I'm awestruck! A lovely person with so much talent. I have a dislike for dub actors, but she's really good at what she does, if only she could do more roles instead of these other...voice actors. Haha. Always a fan of your work, Melissa, and I hope you keep on going strong. Work it Amanda! You got me exposed to El-Hazard and you totally rockify for it... even if you're a dub hater. But we're all glad that you heart Melissa and of all the English dubs you listen to, I'm glad you like Melissa's hehehe. I can see your ideal world now... Melissa Fahn's One Woman Anime Show hahaha... that would be awesome--just like you! Keep it up girl and I'll see you at the Anime Society or crossing Manchester Field! Peace, girl! FAN OF THE WEEK 11/28-12/4: Tali! I'm Talia, I'm 20 years old, and I am from Arizona. Melissa Fahn is a relatively new name to me, but I am very privileged to have been introduced to her outstanding work. I found out about her by reading Jackie's words of wisdom last summer. Wicked is my favorite book and a most excellent play, so, I was very interested in anyone related to that masterpiece. Through the months Melissa Fahn's voiceover and additional theatre credits revealed themselves. I continued to be impressed. Thanks to this site I have been able to hear a lot of her work, and can honestly say she has insane talent. Anyone who can belt out those high notes like Melissa gets a "holy ****" in my book. Itis with great anxiousness that I (and so many others) look forward to hearing and seeing what Melissa Fahn does in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. Hey there, Tali! You totally rock girl and for that, you're this weeks fan of the week. And you totally deserve it! We know that you advertize this community to anyone who will listen and make new people into fans all the time, and that's a big gold star in the fan of the week book! Keep it up, girl! FAN OF THE WEEK 11/21-11/27: Sami! Hey there, my name is Sami, and I've been a fan of Melissa's for longer than I can remember. A few years ago, I was really into anime, and one of my all-time favorites was Cowboy Bebop. Go figure, my favorite character was Edward and her voice actress, Messissa Charles. Well, Messissa Charles up until the later episodes. Anyway. After my big anime kick, I got really into Broadway; more specifically, Wicked. When I found out through our loving webmistress Jackie(Whom I love deeply with all my heart) that the lady who voiced Ed was in Wicked, I just about fell out of my chair I was so happily surprised. Since I found that out, I have grown to sincerely appreciate all her work. I think she has an amazing voice-both for anime, cartoons, and Broadway-and an amazing, well, everything else. Melissa, we all think you are fahntastic! Haha, way to go Sami! Woo, I thought I was the only one who saw (or hallucinated ;)) the Messissa and at times Mellisa in the Bebop credits! Spellcheck anyone? LOL! Well, congrats, Sami! You're fan of the week! Who knows, maybe that Ebay guy will come through and FINALLY send you those El Hazard DVDs so we can finally watch it! Haha! Way to go girl, and keep it up, you're awesome! FAN OF THE WEEK 11/14-11/20: Heather! *raises hand* Hi, I'm Heather, and I'm an alco-- oops, wrong opening statement. I really am Heather, and I'm eighteen, from Altoona, Pennsylvania. I enjoy long walks on the bea--. Crap. Now, in all seriousness, I'm a long time Melissa fan. I've been a big fan ofCowboy Bebop for a while, and I'm also a huge broadway nerd, so when I found out the person who voiced Edward was in Wicked, it really made my day. I feel like a total geek for this one, but I have met Melissa once, at the Wicked stagedoor, and I told her she did a good job -- but I was most definitely not at the show that day. So, I'm sure she did an amazing job, even if I wasn't there to see it. I'm kind of sad she's left Wicked, but definitely wish her nothing but the best. She's an amazing performer, singer, actress, dancer - can't wait to see hear more from her! You crack us up, Heather! But way to go! Fan of the week! Great job. You're supah cool and a totally awesome fan (and friend!)! Awesome! Batman would be proud (sorry! Inside joke!) You totally rock, girl and this week its all about you! FAN OF THE WEEK 11/7-11/13: Cathy! Hi, I'm Cathy. I'm 15 and a sophomore in high school. I became a fan of Melissa through Invader Zim, which was and still is one of my favorite shows. Last winter I discovered Wicked and while reading the bios found out that Melissa was in the ensemble. I saw the show in July for my birthday and Melissa was just fabulous. She is just such a wonderful performer and I can't wait to see more of her in the future. Way to go, Cathy! Not only are you a great, great friend; but you're an awesome fan. You've been a part of the fan group since it was started and you totally rock out with the birthday presents ;). Keep up the great fangirling and stay sweet. FAN OF THE WEEK 10/31-11/6: Jillian! Hey, I'm Jillian. I'm eighteen and currently a first year attending UCI. I became a fan of Melissa though Jackie and musical Wicked last summer. Though Jackie, I kept hearing more and more about her, and saw what an awesome person and performer she is. And I enjoyed watching her in the ensemble of Wicked as well. I was shortly after introduced to Clever, in which Melissa's obvious talent just soars. Then, I realized that she was the voice of Gaz on Invader Zim, which I have watched so many times and never made the connection between the two. Melissa is just simply an amazing, talented performer, and I look forward to seeing her in more of her work in the future. Yay, Jillian! You are a totally kick-butt fan, so keep up the good work. FAN OF THE WEEK 10/24-10/30: MaDonna! I've been a fan of Melissa's since about last Christmas. That was about the time that I fell in love with Cowboy Bebop &of course, Melissa. Even more so than Steve Blum. :O. I remember that I always liked the VA for Edward because of how cute she was in the KOHD extras. Around the same time, I found out that one of the chorus members in Wicked was MELISSA FAHN. My friend Sophi and I freaked out, because we loved her. We immediately fell in love with the idea [ and her headshot ] &I remember spending quite a bit of time on google trying to find other pictures. Her VA-ing Gaz = adorable. Just recently, one of the best birthday presents I've ever gotten came in the mail. My friends saw Camille [ a reading that Melissa was in ] and had her sign a postcard from the show. They told her I was a huge Bebop fan, which excited her, and she signed it and wrote "ed" on the bottom of it. The postcard now lives on my wall. I have never met Melissa. I probably never will. I probably won't get to see her perform, either, just because of how far away I am from the city. I still think that I deserve to be fan of the week just because of my enthusiasm. I'm still getting used to the idea that there are other Melissa fans because for a while I was SURE it was just my friend Sophi and I. However, I'm very glad there's this network available of other people who feel the same love I do! -MaDonna Way to go MaDonna! You're this weeks FotW! Great job. You're a wonderful fan to Melissa, and who knows, you might see her some day! Maybe if she does Vox Lumiere again sometime soon and they tour, they might be coming to a town near you! So don't give up hope, you might see Melissa hit the stage yet! Your postcard is tres cool!!! You have yourself some AWESOME friends, Chica. Looks like you had a really happy birthday, this year! We're glad you're a part of our fandom and even more glad that you're our Fan of the Week! Keep it up! FAN OF THE WEEK 10/17-10/23: Sophia! Name: Sophia. Age: 18. Location: El Paso, Tx . I first heard of Melissa when I rented the Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door dvd. I watched all the extras and interviews, and I giggled a lot, because she was so freaking cute. This wasn't the first time I had ever heard her work, I had seen several other shows she had worked on before, but it was the first time I had heard of Melissa herself. I was already a fan of the musical Wicked at this point, and a couple months later, I was looking at the Wicked bios page, and while I was scrolling though, my eyes caught the words, "Invader Zim". I found the bio it was included in (Melissa's, obviously), and was delighted to find that I actually knew who she was! She had done voices for some of my favorite shows ever, and was in the ensemble of one of one of my favorite musicals! Could it get any better? My friend and I decided that she would be Glinda in our dream cast of Wicked. Eventually, we found other Melissa fans - who knew there would be so many? I'm glad there are, partly because she's incredibly talented and really deserves it, and partly so now I have other people to fangirl with. Congratulations, Sophia! You're our new fan of the week. You're always more than welcome to fangirl with us--that's what we're here for. Stay Wicked and keep the fangirling going strong! FAN OF THE WEEK 10/10-10/16: Maria! I m Maria, I m fifteen years old, and I live in Maryland. I first was introduced to Melissa through Wicked. Of course I saw her in the ensemble, but sadly at the time I could not broaden my focus any larger then idolizing Miss Idina Menzel. When it came time for the Something Wicked cabaret I bought tickets and the very first act was this weird number featuring a small girl in leather and a red wig singing Unusual Way from "Nine". Now, I was slightly freaked out but I remember thinking, well, this girl has a really nice opera voice. Little did I know that that small girl was Melissa Fahn. The first time I was really introduced to her however was at Bryant Park. Sitting in the audience on that hot summer day I thought she was the cutest thing and her voice was amazing. It made me want to see her as Glinda, but sadly, that day would never come. We then proceeded to get our picture taken with her and I just remember her being sweet. One week later we printed out the picture of her with us (picture can actually be seen on Mille Baci) and we wrote her a little note on it. When we gave it to her she called us dolls and blew kisses at us. We had been having a really bad day and so this put us into the spirits. Later I wrote her and she told me that the picture we gave her was her inspiration to do Wicked everyday. I hope to have the chance to see Melissa again, and I truly wish her the best of luck in life. That's awesome, Maria. Being an inspiration to Melissa wins for SURE! You're a great fan, and you have the respect of an awesome and talented performer, as well as our community! You're a great fan and a great friend. Also, thanks much for those lurvely pictures from Bryant Park! They look great in our gallery. Congrats on being selected as our Fan of the Week! FAN OF THE WEEK 10/3-10/9: Binks! I'm Binks, I'm seventeen, and I live in Los Angeles. I first became a fan of Melissa last summer, when my mom asked me to come see a show her friend was in called Vox Lumiere. I got some friends to come along with me, in case it was lame - instead, we were blown away! Melissa was one of our favorites, because of her high energy and obvious talent. After the show, one of my friends complimented Melissa on her voiceover work. She was very sweet and very happy that we'd enjoyed the show. We saw Vox many times that summer, and even showed up at the last performance with roses and cards for the singers. Melissa was extremely gracious. I look forward to seeing more of her work and becoming a bigger fan. She's an awesome performer and a very sweet person. Way to go, Binks! You're a great fan, and I bet Melissa still remembers you guys and your wonderful flowers. More people should have fans like you. The webmistress is also pleased with you because you wear legs on your boots ;) and that be all she's sayin! Thanks for being such a great fan, and even better, a wonderful friend, your reward is being this weeks FotW!! FAN OF THE WEEK 9/26-10/1: DANA! My name is Dana, I'm 14 and I'm a sophmore in high school. I live in Massachusetts. I've been a fan of Melissa ever since I became friends with Jackie. I adore Melissa and all of her work! I have loved Invader Zim for years, and just recently, I found that Melissa did voiceovers for one of my favorite characters, Gaz! I'm also a huge fan of Wicked, and I've always noticed Melissa in the ensemble. I really hope I get fan of the week, because I would love to be considered such a fan of Melissa. Well, Dana, it's your lucky week! Because you were there from the beginning (One of the first members of the LJ Community, a maker of wonderful icons, and a generally great friend, you're our first fan of the week!
