 So what exactly is the "fan of the week"? Fan of the Week is a title given to one fan every week! We decided that this is a great way for us to showcase the dedicated fans that Melissa has to Melissa herself and to all of the visitors of the site! How do you pick the Fan of the Week? Anyone who wants to be fan of the week has to send a brief profile of themselves to us. Once we get those profiles, the web staff goes over each of them and picks one from the group once a week. Even though we choose from a group, no one is ever left out because then we just pick from what we have and keep going like that. It's mostly random, but sometimes we just get a profile that we decide MUST go up the next week. I've seen some people up for more than a week, why is that? Sometimes we know that we won't be able to update the next week, so we extend the week for the current fan of the week. Also, in very, very special situations (such as when we got an e-mail from Melissa's husband Joel with a profile for fan of the week) we think that the fan has merited an extended "reign". How can I become fan of the week? You must submit a brief profile of yourself to us. Remember, if we don't know who you are or that you're a fan of Melissa, we can't make you fan of the week. What should this "profile" have in it? Your name (first name is all that we require for your safety), where you're from (it doesn't have to be specific) and how old you are. Also, tell us how you became familiar with Melissa's work and a little bit about what you just love about her! You can put anything else in that you want, like if you've seen her perform on stage or if you've had the opportunity to meet her at a convention or something fun like that! But I'm not, like, a rabid fan of hers, so I can't be fan of the week, right? Wrong! Any fan is eligible! Just because you aren't a HUGE fan doesn't mean you aren't a fan at all! If you consider yourself a fan of Melissa, her work, or any of her characters, you're more than eligible to be a fan of the week. FotW is just a showcase of all the wonderful fans that Melissa has. Odds are, if you're a fan and you're here, you could be fan of the week. Just remember, you have to email us that profile or you won't get your name up there.
